UNEP in collaboration with African Women Energy Entrepreneurs (AWEEF) and African Women in Advancing Geothermal (AWAG) are organizing this webinar in the honor of the International Women’s day 2021. This webinar will create a platform for participants to discuss and bring solutions for the post COVID-19 Green recovery to ‘build back better’ with women being at the forefront of this recovery.
Theme: “Harnessing the energy and resilience of women as change agents for post COVID-19 Green recovery in Africa”.
Objective: The main objective of this online webinar is to discuss on innovative solution action plans where Women in the energy sector can contribute significantly to the era of Post COVID-19 Green recovery. This is with a view to help achieve a quadruple dividend for African countries by reducing pandemic risk, while at the same time increasing climate resilience, advancing gender equity, and strengthening economic recovery. The contribution of energy sector in Women economic empowerment at community level will also be discussed.
