EGEC Geothermal and VITO on behalf of the GeoSmart consortium organize a workshop for the ETIP-DG members.

The GeoSmart project aims to optimise and demonstrate innovations to improve the flexibility and efficiency of geothermal heat and power systems with demonstration in working geothermal plants.  In GeoSmart, we propose to combine thermal energy storages with flexible ORC solutions to provide a highly flexible operational capability of a geothermal installation. The innovations are  demonstrated in a medium/high (Turkey) and a low (Germany) temperature field to show their potential benefits and applicability in different settings. GeoSmart also evaluates the synergistic effects on flexibility, dispatchability, price and Capex utilisation of retired assets, across a number of hybridisation opportunities including hybrid geothermal and concentrated solar power plant.

The goal of this event is twofold:

1/ to provide an insight into the technological solutions developed in the GeoSmart project

2/ to collect feedback from the geothermal stakeholders.

This will be a unique opportunity for everyone to raise questions and share views about the potential and benefits of flexibility of geothermal plants!
