Geothermal Energy Conference – GeoEnergi2017

The 4th “GeoEnergi” conference is taking place on May 22nd – 23rd 2017 in Bergen, Norway. The biennial conference GeoEnergi2017, organised by the Norwegian Center for Geothermal Energy Research (CGER), gathers industry, research, business and management participants and covers all aspects of geothermal energy.   At the conference there will be relevant presentations and time for discussions and networking.

May 22nd  (in English). The keynote speaker of the conference is Guðmundur Ómar Friðleifsson, HS Orka, giving us the latest update from Iceland’s Deep Drilling Project (IDDP-2). IDDP-2 is scheduled to become the world’s hottest geothermal well and is currently Iceland’s deepest borehole. Throughout the day, the conference program will focus on technology transfer from oil and gas to geothermal energy industry, and present the latest results from national research and development projects.

May 23rd (in Norwegian). Geothermal energy as a national resource for heating and cooling solutions is the theme of the first part of the conference’s second day. We will hear about national projects within deep energy wells, drilling simulator, energy storage and dimensioning of heating and cooling systems, among other things.
