The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership)  Joint Call 2022 was launched on the 14th September and will remain open to pre-proposals submissions until 23 November 2022, 14:00 CET. It is the first annual co-funded call under the CETPartnership and is co-funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Partnership scheme.

The CETPartnership aims to empower the clean energy transition and contribute to the EU’s goal of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, by pooling national and regional Research, Development, Technology and Innovation (RDTI) funding for a broad variety of technologies and system solutions required to make the transition.

The call is structured into the following thematic modules “Transition Initiatives (TRI)”.

  • TRI 1 Integrated Net-zero-emissions Energy System Call Modules
  • TRI 2: Enhanced zero emission Power Technologies
  • TRI 3: Enabling Climate Neutrality with Storage Technologies, Renewable Fuels and CCU/CCS
  • TRI 4: Efficient zero emission Heating and Cooling Solutions
  • TRI 5 Integrated Regional Energy Systems Call Module
  • TRI 6: Integrated Industrial Energy Systems
  • TRI 7: Integration in the Built Environment

Each Transition Initiative (TRI) includes one or two Call modules based on their strategic topics and content. Applicants must choose and apply to a specific call module when submitting their project proposal. Most projects are expected to aim for solutions meeting medium to high technology readiness levels (TRL 6-8), combining technologies, marked related solutions and stakeholder involvement.

Opportunities for integrated geothermal solutions exist across the TRIs and are specifically mentioned in TRI7: Integration in the Built Environment.
