Matchmaking event on Horizon Europe opportunities

EGEC Geothermal together with the European Heat and Power Association (EHP), the Geothermal and District Heating Technology Panels of ETIP Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC), ETIP Deep Geothermal (DG), and the DHC+ Technology Platform organised a joint matchmaking event that focused    on 2 calls included in the draft Horizon Europe programme:

  1. HORIZON-CL5-2022-D3-01-04: Demonstrate the use of high temperature geothermal reservoirs to provide energy storage for the energy system
  2. HORIZON-CL5-2021-D4-01-04: Full-scale demonstration of heat upgrade technologies with supply temperature in the range 90 – 160°C

The goal of this event was to provide an insight into the above-mentioned calls and build a platform for everyone to share their ideas, and find partners for future consortia in Horizon Europe calls!

10.00 – 10.05 – Welcome & Moderation by Philippe Dumas, Secretary-General of EGEC

10.05 – 10.15 – Introduction to Horizon Europe Programme by Matthijs Soede, Research Programme Officer at the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation)

10.15 – 10.20 – Introduction to the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Deep Geothermal (ETIP DG) by Fausto Batini, Chairman of ETIP DG

10.20 – 10.25 – Introduction to the DHC+ Technology Platform by Alessandro Provaggi, Head of the DHC+ Technology Platform

10.25 – 10.35 – Overview of Horizon Europe calls by Philippe Dumas, Secretary-General of EGEC

10.35 – 10.40 – Instructions on how the Wonder Platform works by Jack Corscadden, Project Assistant at EHP
